PPR CPA, "Growing and Protecting crops Differently" french Priority Research Program & FAST, "Facilitate public action to exit from pesticides" research project invite you to their 2-days International Conference "Social sciences for pesticide policies" on October 20 & 21, 2021.

Given the sanitary context, the event will take place both in Paris, Villette 19^th (within the limits of available seats, for this case, please contact us: ppr-cpa@inrae.fr) and online with a live streaming session. To facilitate our live sessions, the conference is organized in three sessions (each session lasts about 4 hours):

Description and objectives:

This conference aims to provide an overview of the different methods by which the social sciences can help trigger a large-scale transition to pesticide-free agriculture. We will be particularly interested in research work based on the co-construction with the public authorities of experimental schemes and likely to be implemented later on a larger scale. We will be interested in research work based on models with proven theoretical foundations, used to simulate the effects of instruments with a wider spectrum. Finally, we will discuss participatory approaches that allow the co-construction by stakeholders of a collective representation of socio-ecological systems within a territory or a sector and thus the emergence of bottom-up solutions directly applicable in the real world. This conference will also be the oppotunity to discuss the relevance of alternative options.
